What a certified vehicle scale is for

What is a certified vehicle scale for, and why would you drive to one on purpose? The short answer is to know your weight before it costs you. Here is when it matters.

Avoiding overweight

An overweight truck is a fine and a downtime risk at the same time. A certified weight before you roll tells you exactly where you stand, while you can still do something about it.

Axle weights, not just gross

You can be legal on gross weight and still be over on an axle. A scale shows you the split, so you can shift the load instead of getting turned around at a checkpoint.

Loads priced by weight

If what you haul is priced or limited by weight, a certified number protects you on both ends of the deal.

Where to weigh

We have a certified vehicle scale on site in Sedalia. Call ahead to confirm it is open, then swing by and get a real number before you hit the highway.
